Summer Starts (late posting)

The convection oven bakes biscuits with ease!

My last few weeks on the boat have been welcoming the summer and my son, Adam. He just moved back from four years in Colorado and I am so happy to have him back! His couple night stay on the boat extended into a few weeks due to glitches in the real estate business. He had to do the dreaded commute into Alexandria and Fairfax, but survived and is now safely in his own room closer to his work.

Our new immersion blender whipped up the heavy cream.
Voila! Strawberry shortcake can be made on a boat!

Miss Kitty enjoyed Adam's stay while he and his friends found just the right house in Northern Virginia.
He made do with the port settee and mobile wifi. Good thing he only had a couple of hot summer days.

Now he is gone.

And summer gets real!

Kurt Works When the Weather is Warm!

July 10, 2016

Oops, seems I missed posting in June. There are many valid excuses, not one of them interesting.

Seems my husband hibernates in the winter and works when the weather is warm. He has been busy. Enjoy!

Kurt sews a new dodger.
Note the foot pedal of the sewing machine up on the table.
Attaching snaps to the dodger.
The dinghy has arrived on site!
Three years in the making and nearly done.
Flipped, painting begun and adding hardware.
There is much to say about Kurt and his many talents. He makes light of them, but I suspect somewhere he knows how remarkable he is. Our neighbor, Tom, has been having trouble with the engine on his fishing boat. Early yesterday morning he was heading back home after trying one particular fix. Kurt was already at work and I was enjoying my sunrise coffee. "Kurt knows his way around an engine." Then he looks at me carefully not sure if I understood how important that is and adds, "He's very handy."

That he is.
